13-yr-old stole Khairnar’s laptop

Crime branch officers on Friday caught a 38-year-old man and a 13-year-old boy in connection with thefts at the residence of retired deputy municipal commissioner GR Khairnar's DN Nagar residence.
The duo has been identified as Mohsin Shaikh (name changed as the boy is minor) and Yahya Ahmed Khan, residents of Hanuman Nagar hutments at Irla in Vile Parle (West). Shaikh, an orphan, stays with his grandmother. His uncle works in the Gulf.
According to the police, on October 6, Khairnar had registered a complaint with the DN Nagar police station, stating that a laptop and two mobile phones worth Rs43,000 had been stolen from his residence.
"On receipt of specific tip-off, we have caught the two. They had conducted three house break-ins at Khairnar's residence at Gulmohar Road in Andheri. We have recovered two laptops and four mobile phones from the duo," said Rakesh Maria, joint commissioner of police, crime.
Explaining how Shaikh managed to commit robberies at the same house in a span of one month, Maria said, "The boy is very slim and short. He used to climb the sewage pipe and get into the house through gaps in the grills. He then used to steal the valuables and exit the same way. They were searching for customers to sell off the stolen goods."
