Hyderabad: The proposed mega merger between the Hyderabad-based premier private sector Global Trust Bank (GTB) and public sector Unit Trust of India (UTI) bank has been withdrawn.

The board of directors of GTB at its meeting held at Mumbai on Saturday decided to withdraw the UTI-GTB merger proposal.

The GTB board, which reviewed the developments in its entirety, unanimously resolved to withdraw the (UTI-GTB) merger proposal, a GTB release said.
