Bangalore civic authorities have continued their incessant drive against illegal constructions in and around the city. The demolition drive against illegal structures actually began as a solution to solve the city's problems faced with enormous growth and also the subsequent problems of housing and settlement.
The city known as the silicon valley of India has seen significant growth in the past decade and continues to grow at an enormous pace. In order to keep pace with the growth and to provide infrastructure, the Congress government in the state began forming new residential areas along with demolishing unauthorised constructions.
The latest such demolition is that of a huge multi-storeyed building on the busy Bangalore-Hosur main road.
