If polls can be held in J&K, why not Gujarat

Himanshu

As compared to Kashmir where violence is prevalent since the last decade and where the voter turn out in polling has been encouraging, there is nothing wrong with holding elections in Gujarat.

It's only because of the so called secular parties Like Congress, Communist Party of India (CPI) and Samajvadi Party, that have created an unnecessary furore, that Gujarat is facing a major crisis.

The polls should be held without any delay and Narendra Modi in my opinion has shown all the positive attributes in raising the self esteem of our Hindu society. I give my salute to this bold man, who amidst all criticism, sarcasm from outside and within the party has stood tall defying all odds turned out to be a 'real hero'.

Mahendra Daga

There is nothing unusual in holding elections in Gujarat. If elections can be held in Kashmir, if elections could be held in the aftermath of Indira Gandhi's death amidst anti-Sikh riots by Congress hooligans, why can't elections be held in Gujarat.

Moreover the situation now in Gujarat is normal - exams have been conducted, 'Jagannath rath yatra' has passed on peacefully, law and order is perfectly in place.

if a particular political party bigwigs weary of defeat at the hustings used the bogey of displacement of minority Muslims from their house to ward off the election threat, why are they blind to the total annihilation of Hindu minorities from Kashmir.

Moreover, postponing of elections would set a wrong precedent in future for others.
