After such a huge drama in South East Asia, India almost made me believe that this time it meant business.
However the way things unfolded it turned out to be no better than what we have been observing in the past as exasperated Indians.
Right from the beginning it looks like the government was in no mood to confront Pakistan.
But if the Indian government had not done what it did immediately after terrorist killings it would have lost public support there by making it difficult for it to come back to power in the next general elections. So all this drama.
After this incidence, As an Indian I am having a haunting doubt. All these days we were made to believe that as a nation we have all the means to defend ourselves. Is this true?
If it is true then why haven't we taken a drastic step even after losing 60,000 people in terrorist activities since 1989. If America had followed India's example Taleban would be still ruling Kabul!
Now as a final cover-up, the Indian government is claiming that infiltration is ending even as innocent people are getting killed on everyday basis.
I feel Farooq Abdullah is right when he says neither Pakistan nor India is interested in the betterment of Kashmiri people.
