Why is US plunging into language of common thug?

By Bharatram Gaba

It is indeed sorry to see a self-proclaimed 'Great' nation like the USA descend into the language, mannerisms and actions of a common thug. It's a wonder how the people of America consistently stand by their government as it bullies smaller nations into submission by starving or bombing their people, in the process creating new enemies everyday - enemies that ultimately strike at American civilians.

Who gains by this endless cycle of violence? Where is the supposed 'maturity' of the American people? Don't they sit back and think about why their government tolerates and even rewards dictatorships in certain countries while declaring war on others? The US very nobly wants some countries to eliminate their weapons of mass destruction while continuously stockpiling their own and gifting them to their allies.

US' hegemony is becoming bad enough for people around the world to actually start missing the 'Cold War' days of not-so-long-ago. One sincerely hopes and prays that China assumes the role of the erstwhile Soviet Union sooner rather than later. The world needs a balance today more than it ever has.
