Battle of Ambanis -- Will they stick or split?

Battle Royale--Rs 100,000 crore at stake
Reliance Group, one of the largest corporate entities in India, is Breaking! Or so it seems. Though the two Ambanis, Mukesh and Anil, are desperately trying to keep things under control, it is steadfastly slipping out of their hands. The sheer size and the key sectors where the Reliance Group operates makes it even more an interesting event for the nation to wait and watch.

The cracks are believed to have surfaced during the launching days of Reliance Infocomm, Mukesh's pet project. Anil and his family along with a few close friends stayed away from the Infocomm launch, which was dismissed by most as minor differences inside the family.

The fact that differences continued to simmer was evident by the approach of the two brothers after mid-2003, when Anil was reported to have admitted to the presence of 'constructive tensions' between the two. Other not-so-glaring issues like Infocomm using the late Dhirubhai as the mascot, while Anil's Reliance Energy using the punch-line ' A Dhirubhai Enterprise', Mukesh's admission of rift in ownership issues, were pointers to crisis in the Rs 100,000 crore giant Indian Company.

Indiainfo.com has created a spotlight on this issue to give our browsers a detailed coverage of the events as it unfolds…….
