Shiv Sena asks PM to provide security to sevaks
Friday, March 1 2002 13:13 Hrs (IST)

Mumbai: A high-level delegation of Members of Parliament (MPs) from Shiv Sena would meet Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee in New Delhi on March 1 to seek protection for Ayodhya-bound Ramsevaks in view of the attack on Sabarmati Express, party spokesman Subhash Desai said.

"A delegation of Sena MPs under the leadership of Manohar Joshi is likely to meet Vajpayee today (March 1) to request him to provide protection to Ramsevaks reaching Ayodhya from across the country," Desai said.

Besides Joshi, the Sena delegation would comprise of Union Energy Minister Suresh Prabhu and leader of Shiv Sena in Lok Sabha Anant Geete, party sources said.

The meeting assumes significance in the wake of Sena chief Bal Thacekray's criticism of "pseudo secularists, who are turning a Nelson's eye to the massacre of Hindus".
