Bangalore: Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Uma Bharati on March 3 appealed to Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) to postpone its plans to start construction on Ram temple from March 15 in view of the present situation in the country.

Speaking to reporters, she said the country was passing through a turmoil and the VHP should "reconsider its March 15 deadline".

Asked about certain conditions put forth to the government by the VHP on the Ram temple issue, she said, "I do not have the right to comment on their conditions."
