Chennai: The DMK (Dravida Munnetra Kazagam)-led Democratic Progressive Alliance (DPA) in Tamil Nadu today decided to depute a high-level delegation of its leaders to meet Karnataka Chief Minister Dharam Singh for seeking release of water in the Cauvery river.

The team, led by former state PWD (Public Works Department) Minister and DMK leader Durai Murugan, would call on Singh on June 10, DMK President M Karunanidhi told reporters after a meeting of the DPA leaders convened to discuss the Cauvery issue.

He said the delegation would comprise TNCC (Tamil Nadu Congress Committee) President G K Vasan, PMK (Pattali Makkal Katchi) President G K Mani, MDMK (Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) leader L Ganesan, CPM's (Communist Party Marxist) T K Rengarajan, R Nallakannu of CPI and IUML leader Khadhar Mohideen.

Before that, all the MPs from Tamil Nadu would call on Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh either on June 7 or 8 to request him to prevail upon Karnataka to release water, he said.
