Bangalore: Karnataka Chief Minister S M Krishna on November 6 reiterated the state's
demand for constituting a fresh tribunal on Krishna river water sharing.
"What we did two months ago, Andhra Pradesh is doing the same now," Krishna told
reporters, reacting to Andhra Pradesh's move to file a "complaint" with the Centre
seeking constitution of a new tribunal.
Krishna said that the tribunal would decide the rightful share of the riparian
states.
He declined to react to his Tamil Nadu counterpart Jayalalithaa's conditionalities
on holding of the Cauvery River Authority (CRA) meetings, saying that he would do so
after examining the contents of her letter.
Jayalalithaa had on November 5 written to Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee
calling for a "minimum fixed agenda" at the meetings of CRA.
Krishna said that the state expected the CRA meeting to be held after the Prime
Minister's return from abroad. Karnataka has been pleading for a CRA meeting in the
wake of the ongoing Cauvery row with Tamil Nadu.
