Bangalore: Karnataka on February 6 said it would obey the Supreme Court order on
releasing 4500 CUSECS of Cauvery river water on daily basis to Tamil Nadu till the
Cauvery River Authority (CRA) meets on February 10 to decide on the distress sharing
formula.
Karnataka Chief Minister S M Krishna emerging out of the Cabinet meeting in Bangalore
on being sought his reaction on the apex court order on water release told reporters
"we will obey the order".
Minister for Information Kagodu Thimmappa said it was inevitable for the state to
honour the Supreme Court order.
The Supreme Court today passed an order on an application filed by Tamil Nadu
directing Karnataka to release 4500 CUSECS of water daily till the CRA meets.
