Cauvery River Authority meeting may be put-off
Monday, January 13 2003 10:39 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: A crucial meeting of the Cauvery River Authority to decide on the distress sharing formula of river water between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu might not take place on January 13 due to lack of quorum.

The meeting to be presided over by the Prime Minister A B Vajpayee might be deferred for lack of quorum as Pondicherry Chief Minister N Rengaswamy has expressed his inability to attend it. Kerala Chief Minister A K Antony is also understood to have intimated that he will not be able to attend.

The presence of three Chief Ministers is a must for convening the meeting.
