Elections-2005

Three Indian States - Bihar, Jharkhand and Haryana will go to polls during Feb-Mar 2005. This election gains significance, perhaps because it is seen as the first fight after UPA emerged as a major coalition against the BJP-led NDA.

The parliamentary elections held last year (2004) threw up major surprises and shocking defeats, while the icing on the cake was the action that was witnessed when Sonia Gandhi turned down the offer to head the world's largest democracy.

Even today, political pundits are trying to figure out, how all the exit polls and expert opinion polls were mocked at by the intelligent electorate of India.

Will the election in these three States throw up surprises, or will it be a vote on UPA's performance or will it just be another election that works against the incumbent Governments, only time can tell.

Indiainfo.com brings you an exclusive section with all the news and developments relating to Elections 2005.
