Bihar, known as the land of Origin of Buddha. In fact, the ancient State of Bihar is known as the land of Origin of two non-violent religious sects, namely, Buddhism and Jainism.
However, these identities are relegated to the background while kidnapping, extortions and the like have assumed significant proportions while describing Bihar. Bihar, at present, is ruled by Rashtriya Janata Dal Government, headed by Rabri Devi, the wife of Laloo Prasad Yadav.
The main Opposition parties are Lok Jan Shakti headed by Ram Vilas Paswan apart from BJP, BSP and Congress.
Now that the maverick RJD leader Laloo, also the Cabinet Minister for Railways, has considered this election as a prestige issue, will he help his wife retain power or will he lose the monopoly?
