Results clear indictment of TDP-BJP policies: Left
Tuesday, May 11 2004 15:49 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: Left parties today (May 11, 2004) congratulated the people of Andhra Pradesh for their verdict in the elections, saying it was a clear indictment of the policies pursued by the TDP-BJP combine.

"What we have been saying for so long has come true. It was a double-incumbency against the opportunistic (TDP-BJP) combine as the people have not only voted against the State Government but also against the BJP-led Central Government," CPI (M) polit bureau member Sitaram Yechury said.

The central secretariat of the CPI said the verdict was a clear indictment of both the TDP rule as well as the NDA Government at the Centre.

"The people of Andhra Pradesh have not just voted for a change of Government but for a Government which would address their concerns," the CPI said.
