My husband will make a good PM: Mrs Singh Thursday, May 20 2004 12:19 Hrs (IST)
New Delhi:
Exuding confidence that her husband would do a "good job" as Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh's wife Gursharan Kaur today (May 20, 2004) said she had full faith in his abilities to solve all the problems facing the country.
"Mujhe poora yakin hai ki woh zor laga ke har samasya ka hal kareenge (I have full confidence that he will do his best to solve all the problems)," she said in an interaction with newspersons.
She said her husband had always been worried about the country and expressed confidence that he would find ways and means to resolve problems.
On whether the new post of Prime Ministership for her husband would intrude into their family privacy, she said, "There will be some impact on our freedom, but there is nothing so far."
Being a housewife, Kaur hoped the price of cooking gas does not go up.
"Whatever he does, he will do a good job, I have full confidence," she said.
Sitting alongside her mother, Singh's daughter Upinder Kaur said the whole family was very proud of him.
"He is a very balanced person, he would be able to combine the role of a Prime Minister and that of a father," she said.
