Andhra Pradesh, according to some critics, is the State that received absolute patronage from the Vajpayee-headed NDA Government at the Centre.
N Chandrababu Naidu the tech-savvy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh has been at the helm of State administration since the last 10 years.
The naxalite issue has been a major headache to TDP and its chief. This time it is even more serious because the naxalites have threatened to kill all the Telugu Desam party candidates.
The only Opposition till now was the Congress, however, this time around there is a new wave of the Telanagana Rashtriya Samiti (TRS) that vows to defeat the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP).
TDP which boasts of several developmental activities has forged an alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) while the Congress has joined hands with TRS.
Whether Naidu will retain his hold for the third consecutive term or will the Congress-TRS combine and the naxalites will defeat TDP is what makes the Andhra assembly elections even more interesting.
