I feel sad for not being there to help

Sir,

What is a Tsunami? As a student and an avid reader and traveller, I know it's a disaster of some kind and quite disastrous, capable of claiming lots of lives.

But, what I saw over the last two days has left me numb with shock. This sort of stuff is supposed to happen only in movies, not in real life.

Having said so much, which is not enough? Who ever imagined what happened on 26th December? Boxing day???

How many people in S Asia, or for that matter rest of the world i.e. USA, Europe, S America, and rest remaining if any that happened? We keep reacting after disasters!!!!

Why were USA/UK/Russia/China/India/Australia/NZ/France with all their sophisticated satellites not able to avert this disaster?

Doesn't global warming have anything to do with this? Isn't USA responsible for not ratifying the global warming treaty? Why does the rest of the world sit back with folded hands? Why is UK licking upto USA in a major way?????

What about France's underwater nuclear tests years back which could have triggered this? And they like to lecture the rest of the world over righteously, with their stupid nose's held the way high up????

This is nature's way of reminding us we are messing up the world!

A word of sincere advice {unsolicited, no charges, your US, UN consultant may charge thousands of dollars).

Don't give false hopes and a meager aid if Euro/USD 3-4 or for that matter 50/60 million either in any currency, because you'll know, what you are doing is just for the camera and a small amount of illiterate Asians individually might think it is a big amount, but we all know the disaster/calamity can never be estimated until a much later assessment.

The way things appear losses could run into billions of USD.

While no country expects to be financed [much as they would like] for their entire loss, one hopes that people who are majorly responsible for their past actions be brave enough and put their hands up if they wish future generations don't ever witness the nightmare the world witnessed on 26th Dec, Boxing day 2004.

I pray, the people affected get back on their feet, difficult as it is, but knowing people of this region they are going to be back, having faced so many difficulties and adversities over the centuries.

Anyhow, knowing our way of life, I know personal if not material help will not be far from any possible victim. I know people will give their lives to save the less fortunate.

Thanks,

I would have mentioned Yours Truthfully, Sincerely or something
Unfortunately, all I can say is,
Yours Mourningly, and sorry for lives lost in tsunami,
God bless them
