Patiala: External Affairs Minister Yashwant Sinha on March 15 said any war
on Iraq would go against the interests of India, including possible disruption of
oil supplies.
Talking to reporters, he said India's interests would be affected since about 35
lakh Indian families are settled in the Middle East and Iraq is supplying two-third
of the country's oil requirements.
On Indo-Pak relations, Sinha said as long as there was cross-border terrorism there
could be no talks with Pakistan.
On permission sought by Sikh Jathas to visit Pakistan, he said it would be dealt on
merit.
He said the Jatha, which went to Pakistan in the past, was not treated well. India-
bashing was done during the visits of the Jathas as Pakistan tries to take undue
advantage of the presence of the Jathas.
