The death toll rose to 85 people killed and 320 wounded in coordinated attacks by insurgents across Central and Northern Iraq today (June 24, 2004), the Iraqi Health Ministry said.
Health Ministry spokesman Jamal Ani said a total of 85 people died and 320 were wounded in attacks in five cities around the country.
In a breakdown, 44 people were killed and 216 wounded in Mosul, 13 people died and 15 were wounded in Baquba, and 20 people were killed and 76 wounded around Fallujah and Ramadi.
Another eight people died and 13 were wounded in attacks around Baghdad, he said.
