Coimbatore: Two more persons, members of a Tamil militant group led by Ilavarasan,
and involved in the abduction of former Karnataka minister, H Nagappa, had been
arrested on January 9 night at Vriddhachalam by the joint STF (Special Task Force),
engaged in operations to nab forest brigand, Veerappan, a senior STF official said on
January 10.
Based on the information given by Bhagyaraj, who was arrested earlier, STF kept a
strict vigil and effected the arrest at Vriddhachalam bus stand, in Tamil Nadu on
January 9, Additional Director General (Tamil Nadu STF), R Natarajan said from his
camp.
The accused, Shankar and Selvam, members of Tamil Viduthala Iyakkam, had played a
major role in the abduction of Nagappa and were with Veerappan till September end, he
said.
