Bangalore: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) members in Karnataka Assembly were on
December 26 evicted from the house after they were suspended till the end of the
session by Speaker M V Venkatappa as they blocked proceedings on the Nagappa issue
for the second day.
As soon as the House met, BJP members raised slogans against the S M Krishna
government blaming it for the killing of Nagappa and with unruly scenes continuing,
the speaker ordered their suspension and eviction.
Expelled BJP member Guruswamy who staged a ‘dharna’ was also suspended.
BJP members raised slogans like "Congress hatao" as several of them were physically
removed from the house by the watch and ward staff.
Venkatappa said he was suspending BJP members till December 31, when the session is
slated to end, as their behaviour was disorderly.
BJP members had blocked proceedings in the Assembly on December 24 also demanding
resignation of Krishna, Home Minister Mallikarjun Kharge and Minister for Agro-
Processing Raju Gowda and a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the
killing of Nagappa.
In the Legislative Council also, the BJP members were suspended and evicted from the
house on December 24 for blocking proceedings and their disorderly behaviour.
