Chennai: Karnataka Information Minister Kagodu Thimmappa said the police
investigations into the death of former minister H Nagappa was expected to be
completed in another 15 days.
In an informal chat with the reporters on December 28, Thimmappa said he did not
want to say much on this, as the Karnataka government had already ordered a judicial
probe into the episode.
He said Karnataka government would go all out to nab sandalwood smuggler Veerappan.
Denying any rift between the Tamil Nadu and Karnataka governments on nabbing
Veerappan, he said the difference of opinion that persisted during the Nagappa
kidnap episode had been sorted out. Even on December 28, he met Tamil Nadu special
task force (STF) chief W I Dawaram, who had also expressed confidence that Veerappan
would be captured dead or alive very soon, Thimappa said.
The Centre had also come forward to help the STFs of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka in
nabbing the outlaw, he said.
