US, Mush responsible for Bhutto's killing: Imran
Friday, December 28, 2007 16:11 [IST]

imranIslamabad: Former Pakistani cricketer and one of the country's strong opposition party leader Imran Khan today condemned Pakistan Government for the assasination of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto and said that President Pervez Musharaf and US Government is responsible for Bhutto's killing.

Reacting to Bhutto's assasination the Tehreek-e-Insaaf leader said to media that It makes no sense to go ahead with elections in such situations. "No body is safe in Pakistan and there can't be free and fair elections after this incident," Imran said.

Answering to a question that whether he will demand an inquiry into the incident he said, "What judicial inqury when judges have been sent home. Musharaff has already sacked judges in an unconstitutional way. No one has faith in the present government."

Holding responsible for Bhutto's assasination Imraan Khan criticised US Government saying that America is responsible for Bhutto's death as "after US backed Benazir her life was in jeopardy".

Terming elections in Pakistan a total sham Imran said that credible polls can held only under independent judiciary. Demanding Musharraf's resignation Imran said, "It's right time for Musharraf to step down as eighty per cent of Pakistanis want him to step down."

"Musharraf is the problem not the solution," he said and added that Musharaff should have provided security to Bhutto as she kept on asking for security.
