Karachi: The grieving husband and sister of slain opposition leader, Benazir Bhutto, have appealed to the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) workers and leaders to show solidarity and patience in this hour of crisis.
Asif Zardari and Sanam Bhutto told reporters during the final burial rites of the former primer that the workers must continue to support the party but remain patient and united to further the cause of democracy.
"PPP and the Bhutto family have given great sacrifices for democracy in Pakistan. My sister also lost her life fighting for the restoration of true democracy. The party must carry her mission forward," Sanam said.
Zardari said his wife s assassination was a colossal loss to democracy but the party workers needed to be patient and complete the mission of Benazir.
