She was a great leader and source of inspiration for all the women in the world," Bushra Ahmed, a postgraduate student, told a local daily. Ahmed said she would expect the whole nation not to celebrate the New Year.
Ezza Nadeem, a student of O levels, said she and her friends had decided not to celebrate the New Year because of the tragic incident. "Benazir was a role model for all women.
She was a brave woman in this male-dominated society and had proved herself as a great politician and fighter for democracy," she said.
